The Soundtrack to the upcoming Baz Lurhmann movie The Great Gatsby promises to be outstanding. Jay Z overlooking the whole project seems to deliver, despite the fact that Mrs Carter and André 3000 are recording Back To Black doesn’t please a bunch of Winehouse fans. An official soundtrack sampler has been released, revealing 30-second snippets of each of the songs, the Beyoncé cover excluded. After the jump however, you’ll find another audio sampler, which allows you to listen to a sneak peak. Another remarkable remake is Beyoncé’s Crazy In Love, in a swing version performed by Emeli Sandé, who also contributed a track to Danny Boyle’s latest Trance.
And for those who simply can’t get enough of Lana Del Rey‘s vintage escapades, you will be thrilled to hear Young and Beautiful. The track will become the first official single to be taken from the Soundtrack. If this track is anything to go by, both the film and its musical setting got us eagerly looking forward to seeing the result. You can listen to the superb song in full after the jump, as well as Florence + the Machine’s contribution Over The Love.

Another Soundtrack causing quite a stir on social media is the upcoming Baz Lurhmann movie The Great Gatsby, based on the novel by American author F. Scott Fitzgerald, set in the Roaring Twenties. The film starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire will be released May 10th. Executive producer of its Soundtrack is Jay-Z, who also contributed an original song. Other names listed on the score include Q-Tip, Lana Del Rey, the xx, Florence & The Machine, Will.i.am, Fergie, Emile Sandé, Jack White, Gotye, and Bryan Ferry. Most notable is a new collaboration between Beyoncé and Andre 3000. They are rumored to cover the Amy Winehouse classic Back To Black. Mitch Winehouse, Amy’s dad, tweeted many aren’t too impressed the Diva and one half of Outkast are touching this iconic song. No snippets surfaced thus far. Meanwhile, Beyoncé did debut her new Pepsi commercial, entitled Mirrors. The advert features the Timbaland-produced Grown Woman, new music from her upcoming album.
Preparing to embark on a world tour, with tickets selling out in minutes, Beyoncé is getting ready to release her fifth studio album Mrs. Carter. The title, obvious as it is, refers to her hubby Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter. Earlier this month a dreamed up track listing surfaced. Fake, as it turned out. What we wouldn’t do for the Bey to hook up with Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and little sister Solange! All on one album.
Knowles, or say Carter, has never been out of the spotlight, performing at the Super Bowl Halftime and the president’s inauguration, and the documentary Life Is But a Dream, directed and produced by the singer herself, premiering on HBO last month. The previous album 4 let down in sales figures, though critically acclaimed. It is now time for some new music.
To wet our appetite, the first single just dropped. Actually, two songs have been set free. Supposedly the intro and outro of the upcoming full length. On Bow Down, produced by Hit-Boy, the singer takes her Diva-self to another level: “This my sh*t, Bow Down bitches”. The track fades halfway into the Timabaland-produced I Been On. Tease your ear buds.
Monday morning Justin Timberlake had the world twittering, as he dropped a brand new song, the first since his 2006 release FutureSex/LoveSounds. All hyped-up Suit & Tie, the lead single of The 20/20 Experience, hit the airwaves straight away.
The track produced by Timbaland, who produced the entire forthcoming album, features a rap sequence by Jay-Z. As on any Timbaland track, moods and vibes relay a couple of times, but the overall vibe is very similar to Robin Thicke’s signature sound. Nothing as groundbreaking as JT’s debut album. “Let me show you a few things,” so the lyric goes. Well, you will see this track surfing the charts without a doubt. See if it is the dreamed of come back for you.
