Rufus unveils Out Of The Game

As if we haven’t enough new album releases to look forward to this month, Canadian singer Rufus Wainwright will release his seventh studio album Out Of The Game on May 1st, produced by Mark Ronson. Release date for the UK has been set for April 23rd. The first single will be the uptempo title track. No clip available as yet.
Rufus calls the album “the most pop album I’ve ever made”, while Ronson claims “it’s the best work of my career.” The 12 track set was recorded in New York in the fall of 2011 and will be more pop oriented with a ’70s touch, though referring to Wainwright’s earlier work, inspired by some of the great pop writers of the past, including Freddie Mercury, David Bowie and Elton John. Musicians on the album include the Dap-Kings who also worked with Ronson on the Amy Winehouse album Back To Black.
